BMW will reborn M1 in shape of Z10 ED – hybrid supercar

Rumours cruise around that BMW gave green light to new M1. It won’t be BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics, but rather something like Z10 ED. This car should hit production in 2012. and get into head-to-head fight with Audi’s E-tron and Merc’s AMG SLS E-cell. let the best win! Can’t wait.

By all reports V10 engine will be replaced with twin-turbocharged inline six and two electric engines. Number of improvements from Vision Efficient Dynamics will pass into the car and Z10’s engine will cram high levels of boost into its cylinders, direct injection and improve efficiency through electronic variable valve lift and timing mechanism. BMW’s new seven-speed DSG gearbox will take power to the rear wheels, and you can expect the Z10’s power output to hover around the 295kW mark. Chassis will be built out of lightweight carbonfibre and aluminium, with kerb weight lowered to 1400 kilograms. This should scare competition and propeller from 0 to 100 in under 4 seconds.

M1 was good for posters in kids bedroom and with new eco-friendly technology (and new name), Z10 will reach in our hearts too. Merry Christmas BMW!
