Ginetta G50 EV – British heroic electric sport car we passionately want back!

Just a few weeks ago Atkins Motorsport team took Ginetta G50 to the GT Trophy Endurance Series round at Donington Park. This reminded my on heroic drive of plug-in electric version of Ginetta G50 – G50 EV through the Channel Tunnel. In 2008, forumla 1 legend John Surtees drove Ginetta G50 EV the Channel Tunnel from britain to France. This was great event and charity drive by John Surtees, who won championships on 4 and 2 wheels. Check more about John Surtees on Wikipedia.

Back to Ginetta G50 EV. This amazing two-seat coupe is full electric plug in masterpiece. Under bonnet was high voltage 300V Zytek motor and a large lithium ion battery pack. This propelled gorgeous British sport car to 120 mph with a range of 250 miles.

But than things gone wrong and Ginetta Cars couldn’t collect funds to put G50 EV into full production. We need another Russian billionaire here. And fast! Someone to revive this gorgeous electric sport car into limited road production. I will gladly take a lease on the first Ginetta G50 EV that will roll down the production line.
