The New Superbike? Austria’s Johammer e-bike setting up rules for e-mobility on two wheels

We usually don’t write about motorbikes, but this e-bike really amaze us. Johammer is hand made in Austria, city Bad Leonfelden surrounded by green hills. Featuring beautifully married retro look with innovation only electric drive-train can bring. Aluminium beauty cost  €25,000 and spin some amazing numbers.

Urban range is 300 km (around 185 miles) is more than enough for almost week of community, while on country roads you may get only 200 km. Beauty is that batteries can be recharged in only 80 minutes using industrial power socket or around 3.5 hours on normal domestic plug, which is great news.

Housing big batter and mono-cone body allowed for removal of central frame and fork, which add to unusual and elegant design. Speedometer and instrument data are housed inside mirrors, which is another elegant solution. Johammer e-bike for sure break several new design forms that e-bikes of the future may follow.

Front and rear mono-shock absorbents allow for low center of gravity and with 80 kg of battery that makes it very exciting drive.  Its beauty you can enjoy on urban commute, but also have exciting performance when pushed over 50mk/h. For now expectation are that Johammer e-bike can be sued for over 200,000 km without any issues and of course most or parts are recyclable.

Since my teen years I stop dreaming about bikes and moved to cars, but Johammer is the first motorbike that brings me back to two wheels. Its beautiful and numbers are more than impressive. I wish other manufacturers will follow and soon we can experience many beautiful – and eco-friendly innovations on two wheels.
